TERRADON was responsible for providing all site/civil engineering design for the new headquarters building for the West Virginia Division of Environmental Protection. This is a 187,000 SF building, and is expected to be recognized as the first Green Building in the State of West Virginia by the United States Green Building Council. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification approach was utilized for the design of the project. TERRADON designed an innovative stormwater management system and other site features for this, one of the highest visibility projects in the state. The collaborative effort between the design professionals and the use of green strategies helped the client reach their goal of a cohesive structure that shows no boundary between building and site with respect to energy efficiency and environmental sensitivity. The state now possesses a facility that not only will take them well into the future, but also will save the taxpayers money along the way in operation costs.

TERRADON was presented with a Gold Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies and a Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects for the design of this project.
